Winter Wear for Students
Students at Vick Elementary School can look forward to added warmth thanks to a partnership recently formed.  The Eastern Carolina Chapter of Bennett College Alumnae partnered with the 13th District of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of  Free & Accepted Masons, Jurisdiction of North Carolina, where Milton F. Fitch, Jr.is the Most Worshipful Grand Master.  Seeing a need in the community, the project began several years ago with the Bennett women providing hats, gloves and scarves in  the Wilson, Rocky Mount, Tarboro and Halifax areas which compose their chapter membership. This year, seeking to expand its efforts and have a broader support base, the collaboration with Prince Hall Masons was begun. The president of the Bennett Chapter is Sarah Sharpe, and the District Deputy is Raymond Renfrow.  Both groups plan to continue the efforts next year and beyond for the benefit of the students.
The names of the individuals in the first picture from left to right are Irvin Jenkins, Ernie Williams, Bashir Barnes, Dr.Christine Fitch, Ricky Best, Dr.Pam Walthall, Otis Sherrod, and District Deputy Raymond Renfrow.
